The program included highlights of docent accomplishments over the years and an overview of the individuals who make up the Mint docent corps. Honorary Docent status was awarded to two individuals and former recipients were recognized. Members of the docents in training class were welcomed.
The event also included an interactive presentation with NDSC Director Shelagh Barrington joining via Zoom from Ontario, Canada. Renee Reese, former NDSC Director at Large, and Shelagh discussed best docent practices for a changing museum environment. Both showed artworks from the 19th century presented through the lens of changing times.
A donation was made to the NDSC Education Grants program in recognition of the organization's mission and acknowledgement of Renee's and Shelagh's role in the Mint celebration.
