Museum of Deaf History, Arts and Culture

If you are curious about Deaf people or want to learn about our rich heritage, you have come to the right place!

Learn about De’VIA, Deaf View/Image Art, with a visit to the Chuck Baird Gallery. De’VIA is an art that examines and expresses the Deaf Experience from a cultural, linguistic and intersectional point of view. (Sign language interpreters will be available for the tour of the Chuck Baird Gallery.)

Experience the “Hands-On” Immersive workshop, which offers an enriching and interactive experience. This program is an introduction to Deaf culture and the language as well as a bridge to the gap between the Deaf and hearing communities.

The educational opportunities here are limitless! Learn more about the legacies of Paul Hubbard (creator of the football huddle), Luther “Dummy” Taylor (pitcher for the NY Giants), and Charles Baird, one of the nine signatories of the De’Via manifesto and a much beloved De’VIA artist.

You will walk away inspired by what the Deaf world has to offer!
