You will hear why this collection was started and how it was built. One highlight from the first generation collection includes the original George Segal art that was featured on Time Magazine’s 1983 cover “Machine of the Year”. The second generation continued the family tradition of collecting by focusing on more recent contemporary artists such as Rashid Johnson, Hank Willis Thomas, Kerry Mae Weems and many more. Selections from the family art collection were recently on view in a special exhibition at the Kansas City Art Institute Gallery space.
