As time allows, attendees will view the White House Decision Center and learn more about the nationally recognized hands-on history lab. Since opening in 2002, more than 125,000 students have stepped into the roles of President Truman and his advisors to work with formerly classified primary source documents and collaborate to tackle some of history’s greatest challenges: ending the war with Japan, addressing postwar civil rights in the U.S. Armed Forces, reacting to the Soviet blockade of Berlin, responding to the Communist invasion of South Korea, and addressing the end of the British Mandate in Palestine.
