Support NDSC Purpose and Objectives

The National Docent Symposium Council (NDSC), is the only national docent organization providing a platform for docents and guides for education and exchange of ideas since the first docent symposium in 1981, which has continued to the present. The NDSC website www.nationaldocents.org and the National Docents Forum, a closed Facebook group enable continuous collaboration. The 2017 revision of the Docent Handbook published by the NDSC is a respected education resource and reference for docents and guides at all types and sizes of cultural institutions. The NDSC Board of Directors consists of docent/guide leadership from across the United States and Canada who work voluntarily toward the NDSC mission to promote continuous improvement in docent and guide practice.

Your gift is tax-deductible (US taxpayers) to the extent allowable by law and supports the NDSC ongoing and future efforts on behalf of ALL docents and guides.

Support NDSC Education Grants

The NDSC Education Grants are awarded to first time attendees of the National Docent Symposium to cover the registration fee. By awarding the grants, the Council promotes symposium attendance by docents/guides who might not otherwise be able to attend, and seeks to broaden the number of museums, galleries, and cultural institutions that will send docents/guides to future symposia.  Read more about those honored with the 2019 NDSC Education Grants.

Your gift is fully tax-deductible (US taxpayers) to the extent allowable by law and supports the continuing education of docents/guides. You may choose to honor or commemorate docents/guides or other persons with your donation. With donor’s approval we will acknowledge all major donations on our website.
